School Programs
Vocational Education and Training (VET) is learning which is directly related to work. Nationally recognised qualifications are developed by industry to give students the knowledge and skills they need to work in specific jobs.
Sometimes referred to as Alternate Pathways, our school programs provide enormous benefits by giving students not engaged in traditional learning an avenue to grow in confidence and learn valuable practical skills or alternatively, to gain a head start in a chosen career as part of senior school learning.
VET courses can be undertaken in years 10, 11 and 12, and can count towards the Queensland Certificate of Education (Senior Certificate).
There are several ways to undertake VET courses while in high school including individual programs, class programs and traineeships or apprenticeships.
Eligible students may also be able to access Government funding to cover course fees.
How To ApplyVET in Schools
Look Now Training works in partnership with schools across the Sunshine Coast to deliver in-school training to class groups on a variety of subject areas.
We also commonly work with individual students to undertake a VET qualification as one of their senior electives where they have a particular interest or the course is not offered by the school.
VET can be undertaken in years 10, 11 and 12, and can count towards the Queensland Certificate of Education. Qualifications must be at Certificate II level.
There are several Government funding options which can be accessed to cover the cost of VET programs for eligible students.
